Walk for Future 2011
On Friday, 28 October 2011 students of the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz will start their „Walk for Future 2011“. In only four days they want to cover the 120 kilometers from the customs office at Martina through the Engadine and the Bergell to the customs office in Castasegna, defying wind and weather in the knowledge that they are doing something good. The projects to benefit from this “Walk for Future” are again Karlheinz Böhm’s Ethiopian Foundation “Menschen für Menschen” (People for People) as in 1998 when the first walk was organised.
For this „Walk for Future 2011“ the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz has set itself a very challenging financial goal. We want to help fund a school for a rural community in Ethiopia, the second-poorest country in the world, and make a substantial contribution to the CHF 300'000 required for this project. We can only reach this target by ensuring the support of many village schools, of the regional population, of prominent individuals from the world of politics, industry and sports and of a number of sponsors.
Whether you take part in the walk for part of the itinerary, whether you support our walkers on their way with refreshments, whether you express your solidarity with our project by your presence, thus motivating other people to do the same, whether you sponsor our project: each contribution counts. We would be very happy to count on you.
In the attached documentation you will find details of the project ABC 2015, the education initiative in Ethiopia, as well as on the revitalisation project in the moorland Stazerwald. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will gladly provide further information.
